*1989 MLB Darrell Evans SF Giants 1ST/3RD BASE-#41 Color Portrait
Darrell Evans, known for his versatility as both a first baseman and third baseman,
played for the San Francisco Giants from 1976 to 1983.
In 1989, he returned to the MLB with the Atlanta Braves, but his legacy with the Giants remains strong.
A color portrait of Evans from his time with the Giants would capture his powerful presence on the field.
These portraits are often cherished by fans and collectors alike.
“Darrell Evans was born on Monday, May 26, 1947, in Pasadena, California.
*Darrell Evans was 21 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 20, 1969.
*Darrell Wayne Evans is a former 3rd baseman and 1st baseman in Major League Baseball
who played with the San Francisco Giants from (1976–83).
*Overshadowed in his prime by fellow National League third baseman Mike Schmidt,
he has been described by author Bill James as “the most underrated player in baseball history,
absolutely number one on the list”, primarily because his defensive skill, home run power,
and ability to draw walks in a long career were offset by a low career batting average of .248.
*Darrell Evans remains one of the few players to have hit over 400 career home runs without
being seriously considered for induction into the Baseball Hall Of Fame.
